Designing with nature—inside and out.
I’m drawn to the quiet intelligence of living systems—how land, plants, and people adapt, find balance, and respond to their environments. My work is rooted in listening carefully and designing with what’s already present.
A Point of View
I approach design as a relationship—between land, home, and the people who inhabit them. Rather than imposing a vision, I begin by listening: to the site, to its rhythms, and to how you move through your space and your life. Each project is shaped through collaboration with nature and with you, the foundation of all permaculture designs. Ecology, functionality, and beauty are held together—so the spaces we design are not only visually considered, but deeply supportive over time.
This work values patience, stewardship, and thoughtful decision-making. Whether designing a garden, a landscape, or a home environment, the goal is to create spaces that feel grounded, alive, and responsive—spaces that evolve naturally and continue to support the life unfolding within them.
As the world changes, so too must our methods of care. I believe that learning to adapt is a form of resilience, and I view modern technology as a new language for ancient wisdom. By integrating intelligent digital tools into the design process, we gain a more precise understanding of the land's needs and a more efficient way to share that knowledge. We do not use technology to replace the human element, but to amplify our ability to be better stewards—ensuring our designs remain as forward-thinking as they are deep-rooted.
My Story
My Story: The Evolution of a Practice
I grew up in Indiana, surrounded by open land and slow-moving seasons. Early on, I was attuned to the quiet rhythms of nature—the way landscapes shift gradually, how living things adapt over time, and how space can hold a sense of steadiness. That early connection stayed with me, even as my path moved West to the Pacific Northwest. Driven by a desire to work more closely with the environments we inhabit, I began my work in landscape and interior design, learning firsthand how thoughtfully designed spaces influence how we feel, live, and relate to our surroundings.
As my work with the land deepened, so did my curiosity about the systems that support life. I studied herbalism and movement, learning from traditions that emphasized the living relationship between the body and the environment. Through these practices, I experienced how rhythm and steadiness can be restored through intentionality. Over time, it became clear that these threads were not separate pursuits; whether designing a garden or a contemplative practice, the goal was the same: to work with what is present rather than forcing an outcome.
Today, my work has reached a new intersection where nature’s ancient wisdom meets the precision of the digital age. I realized that to truly protect and scale the "botanical intelligence" I had spent years studying, I needed to embrace the tools of the future. This led to the evolution of my practice into AI and digital agent design. By synthesizing the slow-moving seasons of my roots with the rapid capabilities of technology, I build tools like the Digital Botanist—ensuring that the same care, intention, and ecological integrity I bring to a physical site can be shared, scaled, and sustained. I am no longer just designing spaces; I am architecting the intelligent systems that will help our relationship with the land thrive for generations to come.
The Synthesis of Presence and Precision
I work with a blend of slow-design attentiveness and digital precision. My process is rooted in a deep respect for timing, complexity, and the lived realities of both the land and the people who steward it. Whether I am architecting a physical landscape or a digital agent, the work begins the same way: by listening—without rushing toward solutions. I believe that technology should never override intuition; rather, it should serve as a more precise lens through which we can observe and respond to the world.
My approach is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I don't arrive with a fixed agenda or a one-size-fits-all algorithm. Instead, I work alongside you—and the site—allowing clarity to emerge through conversation, observation, and data-informed care. By integrating intelligent tools like the Digital Botanist, I am able to honor the nuance of your specific environment with an accuracy that was previously impossible. We use technology to handle the heavy lifting of data so that we can remain present for the more delicate work of design and relationship.
I value patience, honesty, and the integrity of natural systems. Some projects unfold through the slow seasons of growth; others gain momentum through the efficiency of digital synthesis. In all cases, the goal is not a static perfection, but a living alignment—creating conditions that feel supportive, grounded, and sustainable. This work honors individuality and makes room for evolution, meeting you where you are and leveraging the best of the modern world to protect the most ancient rhythms of the earth.
How I Work
An Invitation to Evolve
At the heart of this work is a belief in the power of intentional stewardship—care for the land, the sanctuaries we build indoors, and the digital tools we use to understand them both. I believe that meaningful change happens when we combine the patience of the natural world with the precision of modern intelligence. Whether we are planting a garden or architecting a digital agent, the process remains the same: it begins by honoring what is already present and listening for what is ready to grow.
If this synthesis of ancient wisdom and forward-thinking design resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. You don't need to have the technicalities or the blueprints figured out—only a willingness to begin where you are. Whether you are a homeowner seeking a more grounded environment or a nursery owner ready to scale your expertise, let’s explore how we can build a more resilient, responsive future together.
