What’s said here, stays here.
The short version.
What you tell me is private. I won’t share it without your permission, with a few narrow exceptions listed below.
What I keep private
What you say in sessions, classes, and consultations
What you write on intake forms
My notes
The fact that you work with me. I won’t confirm or mention that someone is a client, and if we run into each other, I’ll let you decide whether to say hello.
When I might share information
With your written permission. For example, if you ask me to coordinate with your doctor, therapist, or sponsor.
If I believe you or someone else is in serious, immediate danger. I may contact emergency services or someone who can help keep people safe.
If the law requires it. For example, a court order, or required reporting of suspected harm to a child or vulnerable adult.
I’ll tell you first whenever I can.
Limits you should know about
Coaching, yoga, herbal education, and design conversations aren’t covered by the legal privileges that protect conversations with therapists, doctors, or lawyers. In rare cases, a court could require records or testimony.
Sessions and records
Video sessions: I don’t record them unless we agree in advance, in writing. Please join from a private place. I use a private link for each session.
Paper records, including intake forms [and notes], are kept locked in my office.
Email and the contact form aren’t fully secure. Please keep sensitive details for a session.
Classes: what’s shared in a group stays in the group. Please extend the same respect to others.
Photos, stories, and testimonials: I only use them with your written permission, and you can change your mind.
Recovery and anonymity in recovery. I won’t discuss you with your sponsor, program, or others unless you ask me to.
